Little flames of green stare back at me from the tips of branches.
Against the overcast sky their shoots of color are all the brighter.
The birds seem pleased by the new decor.
They weren’t there yesterday.
The rain stayed up all night to bring the buds forth–this great promise of Summer’s leaves to come when once again the air off the lake will arouse my senses through open windows and beckon me, “Come out”.
Your voice calls in the stillness of dew.
Your Presence–steadfast, unchanging forgiveness–is with me.
As spring gathers together all its inner workings to produce new life, so too, do You in me.
Spring forth gentle flames within.
Clap your hands young leaves.
Make way for Life’s Renewal at the break of this new day.
