How can this be? My first waking thoughts wrung with worries.
My mind disobeys my heart.
Can’t you think good things? My husband asks.
I try, I reply.
If thoughts need purging, so too the heart. Who is the keeper of this heart? I’ll go there.
Can You choose my thoughts? I ask.
Let’s look at your heart, Wisdom speaks. What are you holding there? The mind needs the heart’s guidance.
Draw open the curtains
Pull up the shades
Lift the window
Remove the storm
Place there the screen so the air pours in until the whole room is refreshed.
Draw open your soul
Pull up these thoughts
I’ll lift the resentments
Remove the sins and place there My Delight
Beauty pours in umtil your whole being is renewed.
